Stegra in agreements for logistics solutions with the ports of Skellefteå and Umeå
Under one of the agreements, the section of the port in Skellefteå that is now being expanded will be used for the shipment of steel coils that will be manufactured in Boden. At the same time, Stegra is entering into an agreement with the port operator Rauanheimo, which will be responsible for parts of the cargo handling at Skellefteå port.
The Port of Skellefteå has for some time been working on an ambitious development plan that aligns well with an industrial investment such as Stegra. We value the customer-oriented and solution-driven commercial dialogue with the port in Skellefteå and the operator Rauanheimo, which has quickly led to this agreement securing the export of our steel products from Boden during the first years.

In addition, the Finnish port operator Rauanheimo has signed an agreement with Stegra for cargo handling at the Port of Umeå, where Stegra has also entered into an agreement with Kvarken Ports Umeå and is planning and preparing to receive and handle scrap required for steel production in Boden.
"In Umeå, we are working together with Kvarken Ports Umeå to apply to expand operations to also include some scrap storage, which will be handled in cooperation with Rauanheimo, a port operator with recognized and long-standing experience in cargo handling," says Marin.
Rauanheimo is an established player in Finland, and the agreements in the ports of Skellefteå and Umeå mean that the company is now also entering the Swedish market.

The agreements concerning the ports of Skellefteå and Umeå thus become part of Stegra’s holistic and flexible solution for freight flows to and from the Boden facility. Stegra has previously signed an agreement with the Port of Luleå for a logistics solution and lease that will enable both incoming and outgoing goods and products through our preferred port of Luleå.
