Meet Betty Callne – Visit coordinator

Betty Callne

From performing on stages and skating in arenas around the world to welcoming visitors at one of Europe's largest industrial projects, Betty Callne has taken an unconventional path to Stegra. Today, as a Visit coordinator, she helps ensure that every guest's visit to our plant in Boden runs smoothly.

Originally from Boden, Betty was born in Stockholm before moving north with her family at a young age. Her passion for the performing arts led her to New York, where she studied acting, before embarking on an international career in entertainment.

Over the years, she has built a diverse career across the entertainment industry and service roles, working as a production coordinator in film and television, performing as a singer and show artist at amusement parks across Sweden, and most recently touring North and South America as a figure skater with Disney on Ice. Betty's role at Stegra revolves around creating a smooth and welcoming experience for the many visitors who come to Stegra's site. Customers, investors, suppliers and other stakeholders regularly visit the project, and she coordinates much of the practical planning behind the scenes: from schedules and logistics to coordinating with the safety team and making sure visitors have the required PPE before entering the site.

2 quick questions Betty!

What made you join Stegra? "When I read the job ad, I immediately felt that it was something I would be really good at—and it sounded fun.I was also curious about the company, and I thought working at a startup would be a really interesting experience. At the same time, I was considering moving back from Stockholm to Boden, so the timing couldn't have been better."

What do you enjoy most about your job? "I love how every day is different. Some days are all about administration, answering emails and making phone calls, while other days, I'm welcoming guests at the airport or joining site tours to make sure everything stays on schedule. I've even had the chance to shake hands with some very cool people. I am looking forward to seeing how the job will develop the further we get in the construction process!"
