Stegra has entered into an agreement with the railway operator Green Cargo, which will manage freight flows between Stegra's upcoming plant in Boden and various ports.

State-owned Green Cargo is the largest railway operator for freight in Sweden, and the agreement with Stegra means that the operator will transport input goods to, and outgoing products from, Stegra's green steel mill in Boden.

The collaboration with such an experienced player in Swedish rail logistics as Green Cargo means a lot to us, and also means that we will have robust management of the logistics flows in our coming operations.

Stegra has previously entered into agreements with the ports of Luleå, Skellefteå and Umeå regarding incoming and outgoing goods and products to and from the plant in Boden.

The railway operator Green Cargo will therefore become an important link between the plant in Boden and the ports that Stegra will use.

“We are pleased to have been entrusted with contributing to Stegra’s establishment in Boden. This is an important assignment for Green Cargo and a clear example of how rail can contribute to the transformation, competitiveness and growth of Swedish industry. With our experience in large-scale rail logistics, we can help ensure stable freight flows between Stegra’s plant and the ports that will be critical to their logistics setup,” says Henrik Dahlin, CEO of Green Cargo.
