Stegra joins LeadIT industrial transition group
LeadIT, or the Leadership Group for Industry Transition, gathers countries and companies committed to action to achieve the Paris Agreement.

By joining LeadIT, Stegra connects with a network of countries and companies committed to low-carbon progress in energy-intensive industry, providing new opportunities to collaborate, learn, and share strategies to accelerate the green transition of hard-to-abate industry.
At its first plant in Boden, northern Sweden, Stegra is producing green steel with up to 95% less CO₂ emissions compared to traditional methods, using three platforms – green hydrogen, green iron, and green steel.
Our aim is to build additional facilities in other parts of the world and by that impact a wider range of value chains, not only green iron and green steel production plants but also in other heavy industry sectors. We have the ambition to be recognized as a global climate leader, driving the transition by producing near-zero materials.

Stegra’s membership was announced by Benjamin Dousa, Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation & Foreign Trade, during New York Climate Week.
